What’s a university to do when it meets an ambitious $1 billion fundraising goal two years early? Keep going, of course.
Beyond a Billion – the last leg of the University’s State Your Purpose campaign – outlines 10 key goals leading to Colorado State’s 150th anniversary in 2020.
Why is giving important?
Simple: Philanthropic support for the University has surpassed state support for the past seven years. Faculty research is expanding and producing new knowledge, even as traditional funding sources have declined. And 72 percent of our nearly 34,000 students depend on scholarships and financial aid to attend Colorado State.
More and more, our public research institution and its students rely on private giving to excel, Kim Tobin, vice president for University Advancement, said.
With that in mind, Beyond a Billion sets specific fundraising goals to support students, faculty, and high-priority University programs.
