Want to meet a change maker? Just look to yourself – or the woman next to you.
Women are drivers in the world economy: They generate $13 trillion in total yearly earnings, represent 45 percent of all U.S. millionaires, and stand to inherit 70 percent of the largest intergenerational wealth transfer in history, according to the Chronicle of Philanthropy and National Center for Edu- cation Statistics.
And women often leverage their assets for positive change in our communities and world. That’s the concept behind Women & Philanthropy, a CSU initiative that celebrates and elevates charitable giving by engaging a diverse group of women to create positive impacts at Colorado State University and beyond.
Women & Philanthropy was inspired by a charge from CSU President Tony Frank to make the University the best place for women to work and learn.
The initiative kicked off with a campus symposium last spring.
